As the “Keeper of the Lights”, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility brand in Malaysia with almost RM110.7 (£20.34) billion in assets. The Company is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia and employs 36,146 people (Group) to serve approximately 8.6 million customers in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan.
TNB’s core businesses are in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. In Peninsular Malaysia, TNB is a major contributor to the total industry capacity through six thermal stations and three major hydroelectric plants. The company also manages and operates a comprehensive transmission network, the National Grid, linking to the distribution network.
Other than its core business, TNB has diversified into the manufacture of transformers, high voltage switchgears and cables; the provision of professional consultancy services, research and development; repair and maintenance.
Tapping into opportunities available overseas, TNB is making inroads into emerging markets, focusing on the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region.
